Bambi Holes (2019)

Oculus Rift VR with 6 minute animation, installed with objects: Table, chair, gaming PC; Six inkjet prints in frames; Chewed pink bubble gum.

The viewer sits at the table. When they put on the VR headset they find themselves sitting across the same table from the character “Bambi”. The viewer realizes that they themselves are manicly pitching a variety of movie projects at Bambi who is unmoved by their excitement. The positions of the desk, chair, room corner and picture frames are positioned precisely to match the position of corresponding objects inside the VR.

A version of this piece with slightly different physical objects, was installed in Los Angeles Contemporary Archive as part of Hoard Inaugural curated by Scott Benzel. More info here.

It was also installed as part of Bambiss and Unicron, my thesis show at UCLA.
