YOGAFLOGOGO (2015)

Performance at Southern Exposure, San Francisco, CA (2015). Duration 60 mins.

YOGAFLOGOGO is a performance and installation providing a televisual exchange between interiority and representative media. A static-filled television screen becomes a site of sacred ritual and mystic divination. The complex set for pre-historical rites and videos explore the theater of endoscopy, pop-culture and amorphous blobs of animated ooze. The installation is both a set for the YOGAFLOGOGO performance and for additional video installation works.

In the opening night performance, two girls squat in a living room where the television plays only static. They try anything to make it work, from rudimentary whacks to elaborate rituals and games. Their actions inadvertently reflect symbolic shifts in history, economics and spiritual traditions.
