Bambi Holes installation at Los Angeles Contemporary Archive (2019)

Oculus Rift VR with 6 minute animation, and physical objects installed within the archive stacks at LACA.

This version of Bambi Holes was shown as part of the group show Hoard Inaugural, curated by Scott Benzel at Los Angeles Contemporary Archive.

The viewer sits at the table. When they put on the VR headset they find themselves sitting across the same table from the character “Bambi”. The viewer realizes that they themselves are manicly pitching a variety of movie projects at Bambi who is unmoved by their excitement. The positions of the desk, chair and physical objects are positioned precisely to match the position of corresponding objects inside the VR.

Table, chair, gaming PC, bubble gum, three inkjet prints from the set “Bambi Holes” in clip frames, the object “Bambi Ontology #1: Bios” (deer antler), the object “Bambi Ontology #2: Logos” (copy of ‘Eistenstein on Disney’), the object “Bambi Ontology #3: Technos” (electronic components, bubblegum).
