Hollywood Lowlifes (2022)

A series of very short animations that played on the jumbotrons at TCL Chinese Theater, and on the marquee of the Fox Theater in Hollywood, in conjunction with the “Lifes” exhibition at The Hammer Museum. The animations played amongst the other promotional clips and had no titles, attribution or further information: in a hyper-space of entertainment advertising they advertised nothing beyond themselves.

The subtitles under the Machine Learners animation are excerpts from Asher Hartman’s play “Animal Regret: Five Dances”, published in full in the catalogue for “Lifes”.
